LOL they fix bugs but not ALL, it’s too difficult I guess and the programm is young.
Even M$ didn’t fix all the bugs of their products since many years right ?

Hy,
the new version of Simplify 3d 2.2.2 recognises the K8200 and K8400 printer in the configuration.
Works fine with my K8200[/quote]
Hi - if it works fine, that’s a start!
But - can I use this for my FIRST print to the K8200? What handles firmware and how do you update that? Is it direct from vellman any you use simplify3d to update firmware as required?
All is in the soft Simplify3d, you install it and after u can select the K8200 as printer in the Configuration Assistant menu, that’s all

Sure!
But hope dies last …
OK, so I’ll start day 1 (hopefully soon!) right from the simply3d software and post some results “when” I print and test machine / software.
Thanks!

Hi - machine all built and running decent.
Had issues with printing (not enough priming at first) w/ the Simplify3d software.
I installed the exact software / ver, etc and still having “different” issues now. I posted in a new thread - not sure how people can see, know that I posted, need help??? Who sees from velleman - are they employees or just people helping others?
I of course would like to know in order to help others too!
Let me know the sequence of how things work in the forum world
Thanks!
this should bring you to my new post under printing issues:

Good morning everyone …
Sorry for the typos, I use google translator …
I got involved in this forum, because I have two K8200 but with electronics mega2560 plus ramps 1.4 …
Sparked by the question of KLucky13 for SimpliFy3d …
I use version 2.1 (3.0 I did not get, because I end project 3D scanning laser plus SLS, DIY …)
Simplify is excellent, worth so much money (and more) …
You can visit the Croatian 3d forum, there we have the subject SimpliFy3d (and K8200, and many more for the 3D) …

Hi Goran,
I have recently upgraded to newest version of Simplify3D and took the basic variables to setup the slicer. It is night and day now how fast it processes and also the amt. of options really are all there for the trying (tweaking)
Hi all,
Sorry for bad english, i use translator.
I’m new in 3d printing. I use simplify 3d, but printing profile somehow lost. The assistant not show the profiles, I reinstalled, but not showing. Everything works fine, but the profiles missing. Can you someone sharing the default profile settings for Velleman K8200?
Thanks a lot

If using Simplify3D, you really have to start using one they have in the software (I forgot how to choose printer, but their tech support is decent if you contact them.)
I had simplify 3D running great on
K8200 Stock Extruder, 0.5 std. nozzle, 3MM
I changed to E3D v6 Hot end and 0.4 std. nozzle it came with. Also still 3mm filament
Simplify 3D wouldn’t work no matter what I tried. Couldn’t get a single 1st layer down correctly!
I switched back to the Velleman version of Repetier and Slic3r AND upped to 0.6mm and it works now pretty well.
I do not know if I’m dealing with Z-Axis issues as others have mentioned and that made it really hard to use Simplify3d or other issues.
So my experience with Simplify3D is very good and bad… it’s difficult to keep switching back and forth.
Good luck with your printing!
