Silent stepsticks?

Hello

Have anybody tried replacing the step drivers for these:

watterott.com/de/SilentStepStick

I can se that our driver is rated at 1,5A pr fase without a heatsink. (our setup)

The silent stepstik is rated 1,2A cont. and 1.7A peak.

Is this enough for our machine? Does anybody know what amperage the Vref = 0,92 Volt is giving.

This is a sound test with DRV8825 as on the K8400

Just one thing I can say: WOW!
I guess it should work, but I really would like to see a video of the k8400 running on these drivers.
If it makes that big of a difference I order 5 immediately.

Kind regards
JeAfKe

The formula for the drv8825 current limit is:

I=Vref/(5xresistance of windings)

Anybody who can find the specifications of the step motors?

The schematics for the driver board (see pololu.com/product/2133 ), which would mean current=Vref*2.

So 0.92V are 1.84A. AFAIK the motors are rated for 2.5A (see jameco.com/Jameco/Products/P … 205819.PDF ).

If you drive the motors with such a high current the TMC2100 won’t work, but for the original K8200 setup they should be fine.
