hello, can someone help me with something
i want an sd card holder for one sd card that slides into a horizontal bar, but i don’t know how to do it …
can someone design this for me?

thanx in advance

You can find alot of designs at thingiverse
see : thingiverse.com/search/page:6?q=sd+card&sa=

i want one to clip on the frame of the k8200 …

Hi AÄronR,

you would probably increase your chances of success in such a case to a great extent by providing at least some input for the design. E.g. by drawing one or two sketches, and adding known values like the dimensions of an SD card, or how wide the clip should be and so on.

Designing costs time in terms of

  • researchiing constraints, dimensions etc. that need to be respected,
  • deciding about all the other, non-constrained dimensions (often harder than the first part), and finally
  • actually building the object in CAD.

Instead of leaving all three parts of the work to someone else, you can easily take care of parts one and two, e.g. with every drawing program of your choice, or with a piece of paper and a pencil (and a cam or scanner for digitizing). If some dimensions are still undetermined, or if there’s a range of possible values, like “width: 20 - 30 mm”, that’s usually not so much a problem. However, it is important that the basic idea how the object should look like (and “work”) is clear from such a sketch.

hey kuraasu
thank you for your quick response, i made some sketches on paint and here they are

i hope you can do something with this…
if annything is unclear please do ask…
with kind regards

This is the point for you to start learning designing. This is a small and easy project to start with. Try out some applications (Blender, Openscad, Sketchup, Freecad etc), read tutorials and try try try,
If you have luck, your first prints will fail which makes learning even more effective at low costs.

Good luck!

i want to try, but what size is the litle thing that goes into the extruded bar?

Hi AÄronR,

how do you want to mount this? If the “clip” part (that shall go into the T slot, if I understand it correctly) is printed, then you’d have to dismount the front alu bar to slide it in. Is this correct? Or did I misunderstand your drawing?

The T slots hold standard M5 nuts with reasonably low tolerance, so you can use those dimensions.

hello kuraasu
this is exactly my intention, but i dont know the sizes of the bolts, i don’t have any left…
so if you could just give me the sizes, t would help me a lot

greatings

Hi AÄronR,

I’m not in the workshop where all the nuts and bolts are right now, but it should not be so hard to find those online. Here are some values for a start, I’m sure there are also sources noting the height of the nuts. If you have a calliper, you can also measure at your printer after taking one of the end-caps off. That way, you’ll have the other values like max. depth of the T slot etc., too.

Cheers,
kuraasu

(Edit: switched link to en.wiki)

I draw with sketchup, its a pretty easy program to draw.
If you didn’t know it or don’t know how to work with follow these tutorials:

on the right are part 2 - 3 etc…
