Replacement LM386 for K4900

I was interrupted for several weeks in assembling a K4900 telephone amplifier, and now cannot find the LM386. I assume that it is hiding under the furniture somewhere, or got swept up. The manual says only LM386, but the data sheet says that there are four varieties: LM386N-1, LM386N-2, LM386-3, and LM386-4. each with slightly different electrical characteristics. Which one do I need?
Also, what is the preferred way of making connection to the pins on the circuit board? The manual does not offer a clue.

For this application, it is not critical, most likely, any LM386 will do the job.
They are all rated for 12VDC, except the -4, this one goes up to 18VDC.
The pins are classic soldering pins, so you solder the wires to the pins.
