Replace controller with RepRap1.4

Hi, my controller broke and I hooked up a RepRap1.4 (much cheaper) controller as replacement.
Anybody done the same and have some important tips.
The obvious is of course to modify the Marlin settings. I read the RepRap1.4 Wiki and followed the tips there.

Hi, it worked fine by the way. Now running my setup with a RAMPS 1.4 controller card. Had to adjust some cabeling due to different connectors, otherwise no problems.
