We have a customised version of Repetier Host. I have a webcam and I would like to use Repetier Server to monitor and control the printer from my work place.
This should be simple. Surely one piece of software can export its settings for the other? I mean they are written by the same company, right?
So how do you do it? I can’t find any configuration file for Repetier Host that I can use to add my printer to Repetier Server. What Repetier firmware are we supposed to specify?
The slicer settings and filament settings can be exported. The Repetier settings not, I already searched for that.
The Host and Server settings files aren’t compatible…
Cheers,
Dylan
That’s pretty crap, TBH.
So can we use Repetier Server then or not with the Vertex?
Of course you can use Repetier server however you have to config everything by yourself instead of importing the settings from Repetier host.
Cheers,
Dylan
Have you done it?
I can’t get it past the first stage of the wizard. Won’t connect, doesn’t show step 2. Nada. I see there’s another Vertex user on their forum with the same problem too.
Nope I didn’t try it because when I read the settings weren’t compatible I didn’t download the server version.
Cheers,
Dylan
I didn’t use repetier server till now, but i may give it a try to figure out.
What else is needed other than the server app?
OK, I just got the following request from one of the Repetier Server developer - I can’t check my printer this weekend but can anyone help them?
"Just found out that the server still has problems with Printboard like boards with Marlin. So I tried to find out what the vertex uses, but only found
Controller board: AVR ATmega2560 based
which does say nothing. Do you know what board they use or can you tell me if the host has “Reset on connect” disabled?
If it has, connection works only once or after a server restart. I have already a fix for this that seems to work. After all I want the server to work with all reprap printers."
I seem to remember that’s what we had to use when compiling with Arduino. Can someone from @Velleman give them the exact board?
