I have a print with three top layers. The first bridges the honeycomb structure beneath it, the second looks good, the third looks ok but has a pattern where the layer starts, see pics below. What might cause this?
I think that if it was a speed problem, it would do this on the whole area, but it´s only that area where it starts to print the layer. And as the printer has a glass plate, the surface shouldn´t be the problem either.
It also just crossed my mind that the second layer (which is ok) is printed in the opposite direction than the third layer, i.e. downwards right instead of downwards left.
I have increased the temperature to 205°C and the next print has been better. I guess that when the perimeter is printed (30 mm/s), this leads to the filament getting too cold when it starts with the solid infill, although it was already at 20 mm/s.
Does your fan kick in when printing the last layer and cool the nozzle. You might try reducing the max fan speed in slicer or adding one of the improved fan cowls so it doesn’t cool the nozzle, or putting some lagging round the hot end. Or even all three.
