Hi I am a new kid on the block.
I purchased from Maplin a few weeks ago a 2 channel remote control.
After I built it I found while setting it up that the PIC12F629 was not working in the transmitter so Maplin replaced it from another kit from the shelf.
The led’s flashed as they should and the project worked for a short while.
However the same PIC is also used in the receiver which does not work so I have decided to purchase a new PIC12F629 from Maplin along with the K8048 programming kit but before I dive into the deep end there is a couple of things I need to know.
I have programed EPROMS by the dozens in the past but have never programed an EEPROM, What I am wanting to know is, can the memory in the PIC be read when it is placed into the K8048 so that a new PIC12F629 can be copied and if not, how or where is the HEX CODE obtained from. Regards Satnav3
there is a function on the pic programming software that can read back the hex code that is on the chip. it can be saved as a readable file or a hex file and then be copied over to a new chip
However, all Velleman Kit projects are copy protected and we never supply source code.
If your PIC is defective, return it to the address below:
