It looks like the problem has to do with the Y axis-
If you are running firmware V1 the end stops are active while printing.
There are 2 wires going to the end stop (micro switch) if these wires are rubbing on the frame on the back it can cause the solder joints to break open and cause an end stop error (you will see this in the log area)
Check the solder connections on the switch and cable tie the wires so they will not rub the frame.
You can also upgrade the firmware (it will deactivate the end stops after the print starts)
If you do have a broken connection this needs to be fixed.
I’m using the LCD (VM8201) to print, so I’m already using the V2 firmware.
I reload the V2 firmware and try to print some parts… I printed succesfully 3 small boxes (20x20x10mm) then I tried to print a bigger part and suddenly the printer stopped during the 1st layer. All stepper motors were switch on and I couldn’t use the LCD control panel. It was like a freeze.
Then, I tried again to print that bigger part. And the heating bed rushs in Y origin (home) for no reason after more than 1hours of printing. Completely random !
I’m suspecting the LCD makes the printer bug, randomly. I’m going to try to print the same part with a computer.
I tried to print from a computer with and without the LCD.
In all cases, the printer stops without an error message.
Do you have any idea ? I guess the electronic has a problem.
EDIT : Ok, I found the problem. I used to print from my SD card but it’s a really old one (1Gb) and it must be damaged because I printed some part (printing time >2h) and no problems !
Not sure if this would help, but I had an issue with x axis shifting after few lines.
I did following
tighten screw on x axis motor gear and applied hot glue so that the gear won’t slip.
use dry grease to make sure heating pad move freely on X axis
since then I no longer have any issue with printing material being shifting.
Check the screws for the pulleys on the motors.
Move the power supply as far away from the control board abs possible.
If you are using V1 check your end stops.
Are you using a surge protected plug? As it’s known to cause the printer to hang up.
You should also avoid the use of a power strip with other devices plugged in.
Another cause is if you’re using a different USB chord than the one provided with the printer. If so it must be shielded and not too long.
