Question regarding moving the y-axis up and down

Question regarding moving the y-axis up and down:
If I do that (starting this in the extended menu) the measured curve shown on the screen moves up and down as expected. But also the curve becomes wider or smaller. This means, it looks like the period, or frequency changes. But it is not shown in the values at the screen bottom. So, if I use the function to move the curve along the y-axis I have no measurement for the period or frequency any more. Can you confirm and clarify please ?
In another thread you also confirmed that the puls-pause relation from the internal frequency generator seems to change if the curve is moved along the y-axis. Same praenomen as mentioned above. Why is that and how do I get a firm measurement of the real signal.
Please advice. Although I am an engineer I am confused. I used to work with other oscilloscopesmany years ago but with that devices the curve just moved up and down. It did not change the displayed period i.e. frequency.

Thank You and kind regards
Micki
