Hello All
I am planning a heated bed, and i have a really nice 12V 600W PSU laying around.
xppower.com/EN/100469/SMC-SMD-Series
Would it be possible to run the main board on 12V ? (Can be adjusted to around 13.5-14V max)
Any drawbacks? Less heating in hotend?
Alternatively i could run 2 psu… But the SMC has all the juice i would ever need.

I have measured the max voltage from my SMC. It is 14,19Volt under load.
Is the 15Volt needed or would 14,3V be enough?

Just a feedback.
It runs perfectly on my 13,8Volt powersupply.

Fine! Did you power up the bed on the 12V Input?

Yes, and it work fine and fast when it is on it is using 18,2 A. So it is 13,8*18,2= 250W when it is heating. It heats up very fast.
