PSgu 1000 - Dead? Need help

I have a PSGU1000 usb waveform generator. A few years have passed since the last use and now I cannot get it working. Im not sure if it is dead since I get absolutely no response from it. When I plug in power and USB the on/ready lamp is still dark. And the pclab2000 cannot find the hardware. So is it broken or is it the software that Ive have missed something when installing? I have win10 64 bit.

Most propably the driver is no longer installed.

Before installing the driver, you have to disable the driver signature enforcement.
Here you’ll find the instructions how to disable driver signature enforcement in Windows 10:
howtogeek.com/167723/how-to- … d-drivers/
top-password.com/blog/how-to … ws-10-8-7/
I prefer to use the method option 2.

You can download the latest software package and the driver from:
velleman.eu/support/download … 1000&type=

You can use the driver: “PCGU1000 USB driver for Windows XP (32- and 64-bit) / Vista (32-bit) / Windows7 (32-bit)”
This driver can be used after the “workaround” for 64-bit Windows too.

In the software package there are three files:

PcLab2000SE_v4_05_setup.exe

 • Run this software to install the PcLab2000SE v4.05

Release Notes.pdf

 • Includes instructions how to update the USB driver.
 • Please see this section: “Workaround to use the PCGU1000 on 64-bit Windows”

CP210x_VCP_Win2K_XP_S2K3.exe

 • Follow the instructions in the Release Notes.pdf and run this program to get the PCGU1000 working on 64-bit Windows.

Here you can download detailed step-by-step instructions how to install the USB driver: app.box.com/s/aua8hf6l5q09rky1oyxd

Hi, thanks for the tip.

Unfortunately it doesn’t work. No matter what I do! Even when the computer is in test mode Im not allowed to install the driver. I just get a message that the driver is missing signing information. I even disabled the signing part: BCDEDIT /set nointegritychecks ON in addition to go to testmode. But my computer didnt care about that.

What should I do then?

Do this before you manually install the drivers.

 1. Windows Key + R
 2. Enter shutdown.exe /r /o /f /t 00 <-- These are Zeros Note the spaces
 3. Click the “OK” button
 4. System will restart to a “Choose an option” screen
 5. Select “Troubleshoot” from “Choose an option” screen
 6. Select “Advanced options” from “Troubleshoot” screen
 7. Select “Windows Startup Settings” from “Advanced options” screen
 8. Click “Restart” button
 9. System will restart to “Advanced Boot Options” screen
 10. Select “Disable Driver Signature Enforcement”
 11. Once the system starts, install the drivers

Thanks!
