PSCGU250 WIN 7 USB Driver problem

Trying to install the newest USB driver from the Velleman site produces a driver install error. I saw that a user on this forum was able to get a win 7 install to work, I cannot.

Any help really appreciated

What is the install error information?

Did you follow these instructions?:
Here you can download the detailed step-by-step instructions how to install the driver in Windows 7: box.com/s/vh9olqyx3idhhxn8ujwm

Before installing you have to uninstall the current driver.

If the above instructions doesn’t work, you may try this:
Here are the instructions how to update the driver if you do not remove the current driver first:

I have followed the instructions a few times but still get an error after the driver installs that says “there was a problem installing the driver”. Going into the device manager and trying to update the driver produces the same error.
The driver is the latest from the Velleman site. PC is an HP, running latest WIN 7 updates.

Crazy question.

You unzipped the drivers before installing correct?

Yes, downloaded win 7 driver from Velleman on 1/16, unzipped OK, go to device manager click update driver, direct to unzipped file.

The driver seems to load OK but at the end it does not install and the driver problem message appears. I tried every trick I could think of including the advice from this forum but still the same error message appears at the very end of installation.

Do you have admin rights on the machine?

Yes, it is a stand alone laptop.

Try uninstalling dthe driver and the rerun the installer with “run as Administrator”.
Not even the admin account hass all rights at all times on Win7 and higher.
(like sudo on Linux)

cheers,

Christian

If you tried to install the driver from the disc uninstall it if you get the option delete it.
Restart your machine with the PCSGU250 unplugged plug it in and reinstall the driver

I carefully went through all the steps again and the driver installed and worked!
I don’t know the exact problem but all of your suggestions and help are appreciated.

Glad to hear it’s up and running.
