Problem programming PIC16F627A

Hi,

I’ve programmed a simple test program - an LED flasher.

I use the Velleman programming software (Rev 2.6.0) to write it to the supplied PIC16F627 and it works perfectly.

However, when I replace the PIC16F627 with a PIC16F627A, and change the processor accordingly, the LEDs no longer light up. I have been along all the pins with an oscilloscope and apart from pins 4 and 5, all show 0.

With my program on the PIC16F627, pins 7,8,9,10,11,12 and 13 all alternate high and low as they should do.

What is the problem? Why does the same program not work on the PIC16F627A - they should be compatible?

Many thanks,

Froskoy.
