I have just bought this interface board and have some grand ideas.
As a proof of principle I simply copnnected a small DC motor to a 3V power supply and switched it on the Digital input 1 (DI1).
If I use either the demo program or software I have written, when I switch DI1 on, the motor starts up, runs for about 30 seconds, then the software freezes (Not Responding) and LD8 flashes and then is constantly on.
My only resolution is to unplug the card and plug it back in, any advice would be grateful or even an explantion of why LD8 is flashing ?
The circuit I’m using is very basic (bit like my electronic/eltrical skills).
There is a 3V supply (2xAA) with the -ve terminal direct to the motor
The +ve terminal goes to Digital Input 1, and the there is a lead from the GND to the +ve terminal of the motor, is that correct ?
You might be experiencing a “computer-originated” USB connection-drop.
This can happen for several reasons.
I wonder if you’re using somehow “unpowered” USB ports, I mean, do you have other devices plugged-in that require power, like external portable hard-drives?
Your operating system COULD be causing the USB ports to reset themselves for some reason…
Anyway, I would check the connections once more, but for me there’s nothing like testing in a second computer.
Sorry, when I said ‘input’, it was actually the digital output. I just used the wrong term. I have adjusted the circuit as you have suggested and it works!
