Prints to wide at bed

Hello.

I am having some problems with my prints, I am trying to find the best settings for each of my filaments so I am printing a 101010mm cube and then i measure what the actual size is.

All my cubes become much thicker at the bottom something like 0.2mm, first i thought that my nozzle was to close to the bed so it “pushed” the material sideways but i have checked and that was not the case.

Is there some settings to modify the width of the first layers, or could it be something else that is causing this issue?
Its like 1 mm from the bed and up where its is thicker.

It’s known as the “elephant leg”. To get your print sticking on the bed you need to squish the filament on it. Doing this, the bottom of the print will bulge out a bit like an elephant’s foot. You can decrease this effect by setting the nozzle slightly further away from the bed.
You can also decrease the first layer extrusion width in the Cura settings (Speed & Quality) for each layer height. Also decrease the flow in the filament settings.
Another trick if you’re designing your own objects is to put a small chamfer on the bottom of your print.

Hello.
Thanks for the information.

Seems like every issue that I noticed already has a name  I am not alone with the issues.

I have tried to change the value for First layer extrusion width from 100 to 50 but the only thing I noticed was that the layer he prints round the object became thiner. The elephant leg was still the same size.

Even the flow did not make much of a different, I have tried from 95 to 75.

Is there even more values to change beside them you explained in the post abow?

Did you increase a bit the nozzle-bed distance? (0.2 or 0.25 is usually fine. More increases the risk of the filament not sticking on the bed).

I did not change the value I did recalibrate the bed.
I will test that value also and see if it will do any improvement. Thanks.
