Printer skipping teeth i think K8200

I have printed several things and no problems but every-time i try and print the Vellman cover for arduino board it prints OK for while and then goes out on the X axis can someone help i am new to this 3d printing model is K8200

Check the log area.
Watch for end stop hits.
If this happens check the wiring for the end stop.

Try adjusting the reference voltage to 0.55
I have found this works best.

Check the belt make sure it’s not to tight or to loose.

Make sure the screw that holds the pulley on the motor is tight.

Reduce your speed for non print moves from 200 mm/sec to 130 mm/sec in the configuration form under Print Settings Speed. Had the same problem and it disappeared.

Hi there, what should the belt tensions be.
i turned the motors up to .550 v and things where going great and then i started a wee printer job and it is a box 30mmX30mmX30mm does the base great when it started the walls of the box it was OK on the x axis but when on y axis it shudders and ends up jumping a gear??

Have you check the screw that holds the pulley on the motors.

Mine did that and made a bunch of noise.
Turns out it was loose.

Check the log area.

I’ve been having X axis problems. In the end I think I’ve traced the cause to one of resonance. Certain move patters would cause the shift. I’ve set a frequency limit of 10Hz in Slic3r and turned off ‘avoid crossing perimeters’ for one particular item.

Paul, did u make sure your voltage on the X driver is adequate enough ? if to low when it gets to the high speed stuff in can easly miss a step and miss align an entire layer past that point

I’ve had the printer running test moves at up to 300mm/S with no problem. I’ve also played with the motor driver current setting whilst performing test moves at various speeds. The movements become much less smooth with the motor current set too high.

I have identified an additional potential problem. The X axis belt is ‘climbing’ the teeth on the drive pulley slightly, no matter how slack. It looks like the pulley had a slightly wrong pitch diameter. I’ll probably upgrade the pulleys and belts.

Paul,

You might check the idle bearing for proper alignment.
