Printer problems, feedrate too low(?)

Hello, I bought a Velleman K8400 a month back and I’ve started experiencing a few problems with it. The first few prints I made were flawless and I sliced them with the prefilled curaEngine which worked fine for the time being, but now when I print it often gets loose from the build platform just a few layers in. Also those layers are not completely filled in, I don’t know if that’s just because it’s the first layers and the printer is doing a sloppy job
I’m considering getting a heated bed and hoping that would solve most of my issues, but it was so flawless in the beginning I don’t know why it’s not anymore.

I’ve tried multiple 3D models at thingiverse, sliced them with CuraEngine and even tried a few others like slic3r, I also print from an SD card if that matters.

Hi,

It seems that the filament is not sticking to the bed : check the nozzle-bed distance, it should be about 0.2 mm (= a single folded sheet of 80g paper).
Also clean the Buildtak with alcohol as it can become greasy from the oiled rods or even from your fingers (and oily surface means no adhesion).

Thank you for your answers, I will try that and get back to you with an update, Cheers!

Update: I adjusted the platform height and have had this print running for about an hour and so far it looks flawless. Thank you ocne again for your help, I appreciate it!

You’re welcome, happy printing!
