A few minutes after starting up my printer (all worked OK), it suddenly stopped working, giving the error message “The device is not connected”. It appears that my PC has lost its virtual com port - I seem to remember it was on COM3, but this is now not visible in the Repetier printer settings or Windows device manager.
Using the available COM7 & COM8 in the printer settings did not work.
I reloaded the driver from www.ftdichip.com and checked all the printer settings, to no avail.
Is this a setup/software problem or do I have a hardware problem?
