Printer begins to move on its own

Hey all,

My Vertex printer had completed a 2.5 hour print job and I jogged the bed down and removed the print. I then do an auto home. Printer is still powered on and nothing is printing. No computer is attached, print was from SD card. About 15 minutes later the printer begins to move with no one controlling it. It repeats the same movements over and over. I recorded a video. Status display indicates waiting…

Here is a link to the video:

The Printer just keeps repeating the same actions. Very disturbing. Anyone else see this issue?

It looks like your Gcode is corrupt.
You should try slicing a different project and print that.

Reply to Wrong Way - The print was done the print. Nothing was printing. The printer started with no Gcode commands.

Sorry,

I misunderstood.
I really don’t have any idea what is causing that outside of it’s haunted.
Maybe you should reload the firmware.

Anyone else see this behavior?

After a print is complete and printer is sitting idle for 20 minutes, printer begins to move in some sort of cycle - see video in quote below:

Never heard of this before.
First thing I would do : reinstall the firmware.

Is the printed connected to your PC when it happens?
Is it each time after 20 minutes or does it vary slightly?

Happy New Year to all…
I have no idea either.
For me it looks like a loop the system is running in.
So there could be a dirty end stop (just a guess)

Otherwise, the firmware, give that a try.
