My Velleman K8200 is skipping sideways by a few mm at certain points during printing, leading to a ruined print. It occurs on different layers/heights, so unsure how I go about tracking down the cause of the problem. Any advice appreciated!

[/quote]Try to sort out mechanical problems first.
Are the belts tight? Are they not TOO tight?
Are te pulleys tightened on the motor axes and don’t slip?
Do the axes move smootly with low force?
It can be your steppers loose steps. Are the stepper drivers ALL set to 0.55v? (NOT 0.425)
cheers,
Christian
Thanks for the feedback Christian, I’ll check those suggestions out! So far I’ve slowed down the print speed and the problem hasn’t happened again (yet).
You’re welcome!
please get back here if you have further problems or got it fixed.
