I was doing a print yesterday. Everything was proceeding smoothly but after the 10th layer, the print became very porous. It is almost like there is not enough material being extruded. After this, the problem starts halfway through the second layer. I would send a picture but cannot seem to create a link to my Dropbox.
Hi, sounds like your under extruding. Check the diameter of your fillament it can vary on the spool & put that value in your slicer.
If that doesn’t cure things. Check your Extrusion calibration (check on this forum or google).
Under extruding slightly will turn out prints that look OK, try turning up the extrusion multiplier a little and see what the prints look like.
When I was attempting to calibrate the extruder I noticed that the extruder sometimes goes into retract mode when I specify a 10 mm extrusion. Also it also sometimes extrudes/retracts for about a minute when I have only specified a 10 mm movement either way. Hmm something is not quite right in the circuit? It all seems to start when the thermistor shorted out in the extruder the other week.
