Power supply, faulty?

dear velleman,

the power supply green light doesnt come on.
im getting 240v on the mains side and nothing on the output!

this is really annoying,
i ve done nothing but run the various axis motors in an attempt to see how flat the heated bed is.
move it measure clearance, move it measure clearance, all with the head way above the bed.

please could you advise where i go from here.

many thanks for your time,

gary:(

So basically you are saying that the power supply has worked before but now it stopped working?
Did you measure the output of the power supply when it was disconnected?
If the problem persist, please use this link to request a spare part:http://www.k8200.eu/support/missing

thanks for your help. i’ll do that.
we’ll get there in the end i suppose.

during the meantime.
how critical is the 6.5amps?
would a lab psu rated at 5amps , be up to the job?

The printer draws an average of 75W at 15VDC, so it draws about 5A continuously.
Not sure a 5A supply will be able to power the unit for a prolonged time without any problems. A little headroom would be better.
