Power problem?

Hello,

I just bought my kit and saw in the sample code that it starts with red. When I run the code I never get to see the red. The strip will give my a constant green and blue and then runs the code but never stops giving power to green and blue.

I power the Arduino with USB and the led strip with an external power source (12V / 0,5A)

Whats wrong and how can I fix it?

Is the red led correctly mounted?
Check the MOSFET
Check resistor values.

I checked all of them and everything seems to be right. The led strip work as isual on a regular IR controller. Could it be the mosfet for the red channel is broken?

You could check by measuring it or swapping it with a MOSFET from e.g. the green or blue channel.

I have found the problem. In one of the segments was a very small connection of tin between red and green.

I took the long way to find this out next time I will start with checking the solders
