Possible part fault?

So the diagram shows that I should be putting the stepper motor on the opposite side, so that the bracket with the bolt and the bearing on it, should be on the otherside of it.

The way it’s ‘supposed to be’, just won’t work. As you can see in the images below, the stepper motor can only be put in, on the same side as the bearing, due to the holes in the base. Turning it around on the other side, the holes do not align with the bolts. Why is this? Does anyone know a fix to this?

I am not a smart person. I believe the main part on the bottom is actually upside down… time to take it all apart lol

In the picture it looks like you have the large plate upside down.
