Hi,
I’m just alerting to a possible error or possible misunderstanding of the user manual.
In Chapter 4, it is said that, to raise the platform, the m3x20mm bolt should be tightened and to lower it you have to loosen the bolt.
However, when executed, I have noticed that the platform is raised when loosening the bolt and lowered when tightening the bolt.
when tightening, the Z CALIBRATION PIECE reaches the sensor earlier thus stopping the platform earlier ==> platform stops lower.
when loosening, the Z CALIBRATION PIECE reaches the sensor later thus stopping the platform later ==> platform stops higher.
I just wanted to bring this to your attention to avoid accidental collisions with the printhead for future users.
Hey, I’ve read it a few times and YES you’re right! This really should be changed as this is pretty prone to causing damage.
Good find!
On the bottom-right of the Z STAGE you can access the M3 x 20mm BOLT that sits in the Z HEIGHT CALIBRATION piece. This bolt is used to fine tune the home position of the build platform. If you turn this bolt to the right (or in other words tighten the screw) then the Z HEIGHT CALIBRATION piece will move deeper into the Z stage and the build platform will stop a bit higher when you perform an AUTO HOME command, If you turn it to the left (or in other words loosen the screw) then the Z HEIGHT CALIBRATION piece will move out the Z stage and the buildplatform will stop a bit lower when you perform an AUTO HOME command. Be careful when adjusting the Z height as it is possible to damage the printhead.
Shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to adjust I’d think…
