Installed Picprog2006 from the original CD that comes with K8076.
It appears that the tool crashes when trying to lookup:
() the help->about (so I cannot tell you what version I got from the CD
() clicking the hardware connections button.
Picprog2006 has caused an error in PICPROG2006.EXE
Unhandled exception in PicProg2006.exe: 0xC0000005: Access Violation
Running the same software on a laptop (Windows XP, but no serial port) stuff is working fine.
ahhh… I got version 2.0.0.0
What do I need to do to get the hardware layout button to work on my ME machine?
To show the integrated pictures the program uses the ole32.dll and oleaut32.dll libraries. These are normal system files for the Win98SE, Win2000 and WinXP OS. It is well known that Windows Me very unstable is and I wouldn’t recommend using any program with external hardware on these computers.
You can try to install these files but I can’t guarantee it would work!
It’s the same mistake at my WIN98SE PC with real serial COM connector. No change to show help -> about and to start hardware connection. Any time PC PICPROG (Rel. 2.2.0.0) chrashes. Perhaps there is any older Software Release of PIGPROG available running well under WIN98SE??
Thanks, but unfortunatellly Dcom98 didn’t solve the problem. At three different PC (one of them a notebook) with WIN98SE and real COM port(s) your software PICPROG2006 Rel. 2.2.0 don’t run. Software crashes every time if I click at help->about or clicking button hardware connection and error window is displayed:
Could bad hardware communication be the reason? I have built a kit K8076, but it was easy to assembly. Anyone has the same problems? Who runs PICPROG2006 well with WIN98SE?
Velleman: Please check PICPROG2006 for running well at WIN98SE!
Can I program PIC10F204 and PIC12F508 with PICPROG2006 and kit K8048?
