I tried many things to get the hookup via the USB. These included doing all updates from Microsoft. Looking for updates from Velleman (I downloaded the software. I’m not sure the “driver” was downloaded because Vellemen didn’t “see” the device.
I’m not sure I understand your point. As mentioned in my post, I had already downloaded what the Velleman web site offered.
Here is that message that accompanies that download: “PCLAB200 Software for PCSU200 (Rev 1.03 - Released 08/08/2012) Program, driver, and documentation.”… So, I installed the unzipped file. I got no indication about the “program” being installed separately from the “driver”. What advice do you have, given that Velleman combines the program, driver and documentation together? Thanks.
Subsequent to my last post, I went through the PCSU200 Driver Installation procedure outlined in the download you mentioned. Although the “Properties” of the PCSU200 indicate “This driver is working properly”, I still fail to get operational status when using the Options/Hardware Setup command. The driver is located at Port_#0001.Hub_#0003. My version of the PCSU device doesn’t have the LED’s next to the BNC posts. Thus, I can’t see if the device is getting any power. However, when I unplug the USB cable, my computer does respond with the “unplug” sound.
The LEDs on the PCSU200 will not turn on until the software has connected to the scope.
After you start the software have you gone to the top of the screen and click on Options then Hardware Setup on the next screen select PCSU200 then OK?
USB cables with bad spec’s can cause this issue.
The unit is identified (or not identified), it cannot connect, and cannot communicate.
Windows “loads” the “unidentified driver”, and new drivers cannot be applied.
