PCSU200 error mesage

Hello,
i am ne here in this forum. I bought my PCSU200 to calibrate my reel to reel tape recorders in my recording studio. Therefore I use the Bode Plotter function to get the frequency response of my alligned tape machines.
I am using the audio range and the log. frequency steps function. Now when I try to alter the step size for my log. frequency step for example from 1/3 step to 1/6 step the PCSU crashes and I get a “access violation at address 77789DFB in module NTdll.dll.”. I’ll get this in Windows XP, Vista and also 7.

It would also be a big help if the software developers could implement a few more functions to the PCSU200, for example a Bode grid which could be calibrated or moved to a zero line ( 0db) or a reference curve to make relative meassurements more comfortable.
Furthermore a possibility to trigger the Bode Plotter from an external source.

At last I miss a more accurate possibility for adjusting the function generator, for example in dbu steps or three digit rms adjustment after the comma - like 1,228 V and a possibility to calibrate the outgoing signal with the incoming osciloscope signal. The signal that is send to the output from the function generator is not matching the measured value at the inpu… for ex. a 1khz sinewave with a current of 1,23V sned from the generator will get a 1,25 V (+4,1dbm) at the scope input …

Huge list I know, but this PC osci would be interesting for many people with such features for aduio use.
thanks in advance!

Thank you for the feedback and suggestions.
Indeed, there seems to be problem to change the frequency step in the octave step mode.
This bug will be tried to fix soon.
As a workaround you can delete the file FGen200.ini in the Windows 7 folder:
C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Velleman\PCSU200
In XP the file is in the folder: C:\Program Files\Velleman\PcLab200
Then run the PcLab200.
Select the proper frequency step.
Due to the bug, the frequency step can’t be changed without deleting the file FGen200.ini and restarting the PcLab200.
I’m sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you for your quick reply. I tried your advice and the PCSU crashed again . So I disconnected the USB cable and started again. So far ok. until I tried to save some Bode Plotter data. - Windows discovered a problem…

Now I have to say, that the driver or the complete Guy has to be updated !!!

The octave step size bug is now fixed.
Here is the link to the modified PcLab200 version 1.05:

Now also the function generator voltage setting is slightly improved.

Hi,
thank you for the quick driver update. I will install it tonight.
There’s another bug like mentioned above: when I try to save Bode Plotter data for several times, windows freezes…

Here’s a pic:

I installed the new version…it solved the problem with the frequency steps but there are some new probs…the menue of the cirquit analyzer dissapears and when you exit the main program and you’ve forgot to close the cirquit analyzer screen before windows will freeze… and this is really not funny when you run the software on an audio pc.

I guess you can solve this bugs fast.

Please, would it be possible to implement a grid with a 2db division?

thank you for your support

Thank you for the feedback.
Now the Bode Plotter menu problem is fixed.
The menu is no longer hidden when the plotter is running.
Here is the link to download the updated PcLab200 v1.05b:
when you exit the main program and you’ve forgot to close the cirquit analyzer screen before windows will freeze
Unfortunately I can’t reproduce this issue (tested in Windows 7).

Hello,
thank you for your update. I am now a little bit suspicuos about the software, because the last update crashed my xp system… so I will wait for a fully tested final version update.

Here is the link to the download page of the tested v1.05 of the PcLab200 software:
velleman.eu/support/download … U200&type=

This version is tested on Windows XP too. No problems found.

Great thank you!!

Would it be possible to implement an additional 2db division grid for the Bode plotter?
Also an update to start with the last settings?

thanks for your support!
