I am using PCSU1000 under an MS Windows 7 environment and I am experiencing application hangs when switching between run (continuous) and single (single shot) modes.
Does anyone have similar application behavior?
Any hint?

Since I am proceeding as you said, I haven’t had the problem again (yet), i.e. no hangs.

In the latest software version 4.02 this problem is fixed using this workaround:
- You can’t any longer click the “Single” button if the “Run” is active.

Where can one get this version 4.02? Under PCSU1000 info page the only proposed version is 4.00 (date early 2010).

Please note:
If you are using Windows Vista, delete the file [color=#000080]pcsu1000.bit[/color] from the folder:
C:\Users<UserName>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Velleman\PcLab2000SE
If you are using Windows 7, delete the file [color=#000080]pcsu1000.bit[/color] from the folder:
C:\Users<UserName>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Velleman\PcLab2000SE
By doing this, the new installed pcsu1000.bit file will take effect and the new features of the oscilloscope are usable.

The v4.00 is the only “official” version at the moment.
The version 4.02 is still a development version.

I just installed v4.02 above v4.00 without any problem on my system (Win 7 Pro 64 bits). But I just want to comment the following:
a) pcsu1000.bit file was/is not present in the designated folder - neither before installation of v4.02, neither after installation.
b) v4.02 still behaves like v4.00 on the following:
b.1) Endless loop of popup windows when starting PCSU1000 program while the PCSU1000 oscilloscope is not connected to the USB bus. Only way to get out of this situation is to kill the program via the Task Manager. While I recognize this is a normal situation, the program should probably exit gracefully instead of this endless loop.
b.2) If the program has not run as Administrator, at least once, the calibration process does not complete successfully (log file does not contain any error message). Calibration process run up to 100% but then an error windows pops up, indicating the calibration process couldn’t complete. This behavior disappears if the calibration process is completed as an administrator (one time).

In Windows Vista it should be there anyhow. Please see “File System and Registry Virtualization” and “Virtualization Example” in this article: zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/5538

Under Win7 the UAC is more relax and I do not remember having modified anything on the security aspects of this program (not even run as administrator).
Otherwise I do confirm that when the PCSU1000 is disconnected and I start-up the PCSU1000 program, I get an endless loop of Error popups with the message
“Open_USB_Device_By_Serial_Number - Device Not Found.”
As soon as I connect the PCSU1000, the popups loop ceases but the program does not respond. Need to kill it.
No Demo mode.
Now the PCSU1000 software is updated.
The USB detection is improved.

Just installed it. Works OK, now the program switches to Demo mode.
But… I discovered an other issue which is not related to the USB connection.
It concerns the logic of activation/deactivation of the Run/Single buttons.
Both buttons get reactivated when Running if you check/uncheck the Logic Analyzer checkbox.
Try this:
- Hit Run button => Single button gets disabled (expected behaviour)
- Click Logic ANnalyzer checkbox => Single button gets enabled while Run is still activated
Forgot also this one…
There is no difference in behaviour between File-> Exit and File-> Exit to Menu.
Both makes the program fully exit.

Just installed v4.02.2; The issue with the Run/Single buttons is effectively resolved.
But for the second issue, I’m not seeing any change - still no exit to PCLab2000 start menu, but full exit to Win 7.
Sorry - the “Exit to Menu” doesn’t work in the “Big Screen” mode yet…
Will be fixed in the “final” v4.02 release soon.

Re-installed officiall 4.02
File Exit to Menu is now working either with Small or Big Screen.
But I’m unable to find the 1s/div range with my PCSU1000. Is that for an other model/version?
Mine is S/N 200701895.

The 1s/div range is for the combination PCSU1000 / PCGU1000.
You get it on by selecting both the PCSU1000 and the PCGU1000 in the startup screen.
