PCSGU250 win7-64 driver installation fails

Hi all,

The PCSGU250 PC-oscilloscope seems to be great and affordable product, so I bought one.
All well, except that I tried now for one hour to install the USB-drivers for it on my laptop.
Windows cant find the drivers, not on the included CD, not the latest one I downloaded today.
It turned out that both of them miss the important “.inf” in the end of the filename!
I just added .inf to the file MCHPWinUSBDevice_v2 , so it was named: MCHPWinUSBDevice_v2.inf instead, and all went as intended!
Just wanted to tell so it can be updated on the CDs and download area, since this could drive you nuts I guess…

Looking forward to many nice projects together with this scope now!

Best regards,
karlmb

Thank you for the feedback.
I’m sorry for the problems you had in getting the driver installed.

It was very stranger why the Windows 7 didn’t want to install the driver.
There is the .inf extension in the file.

It seems the option " Hide Extensions For Known File Types" is on .
To show the file extensions:
In the Windows Explorer window, click Organize, click Folder And Search Options, click the View tab, and uncheck the Hide Extensions For Known File Types.

I hope you enjoy your PCSGU250 !
