PCSGU250 Vsn 1.12 on WIN7

I have 2 PCSGU250 pieces of hardware which I have tested to have the same symtoms.

They both have Firmware V1.01 and both worked good on my old LapTop running Win XP.

I have a new Laptop running Win7 using the downloaded Vsn 1.12 driver from your site.

There is something not right about the sweep both in Trigger ON and Trigger OFF mode.

They appear to do only a one shot at any setting above 1ms Time/Div when the “Run” button is poked (even in Trigger OFF mode) .

1ms or below seem to work as expected.

Please download and install the latest driver for the PCSGU250 from this web page:

Download:
“Drivers for Windows Vista and Windows 7. (Can also be used for Windows XP)”.

Before installing you have to uninstall the current driver.

Thank you, the new driver appears to have resolved the problem…

BUT…

For the benefit of anyone else following this thread:

  1. The instruction specification of folder “PCSGU250Driver_WinUSB” I believe should read “PCSGU250_WINUSBDRV2”

and

  1. My old driver was 1.0.0.6 19/12/2007 where as my new driver is 1.0.0.2 24/08/2009

How and why 1.0.0.6 was created before 1.0.0.2 is a bit confusing.

There on the installation CD are two different drivers for the PCSGU250.
One in the folder PCSGU250Driver.
This is MCHPUSB driver version 1.0.0.6 dated 19/12/2007.
The vendor of this driver is Microchip.
This is the only working driver for Windows 2000.
This driver can be used with Windows XP too.

The second driver is in the folder PCSGU250Driver_WinUSB.
This is WinUSB driver version 1.0.0.0 dated 21/05/2008.
The vendor of this driver is Microsoft.
This driver can be used with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 and 8.

The latest version of the WinUSB driver 1.0.0.2 dated 24/08/2009 can be downloaded from the Velleman web site.
