I used to have XPs on my old computer and everything was working just fine. Then i got a new machine and W7 and (after installing the W7 driver) it keeps disconnecting (sometimes it reconnect and disconnect again) from USB. I tried to feed it from 2 USB slots with no success. Shall i get an active USB hub?

Yes, the problem may be solved by using an active (self powered) USB HUB.
I used this utility http://event.asus.com/mb/2010/ai_charger/ to enhance the power feed from my USB ports. It started working flawlessly.
