Hi
I would like to ask whether is possible
(a) to replace the BNC connectors of the PCSGU250 unit with standard 2-pin male/female circular connectors in both the unit and the probe cable(s) (like, for example the Velleman CUC2/CUF2 2-pin connectors, or similar, “military”-type mini mulitpin connectors)
(b) to replace the BNC uniaxial probe cable with standard 2-wire cable soldered to the multipin connectors
in order to make the probe-to-unit connections more robust and secure
Sorry, we have no idea what kind of connector you are referring to.
Furthermore, replacing the probe connector is very difficult, due to the nature of the cable.
A better solution would be to to look for a probe with the required connector already connected.
I refer, for example, to the 2-pin connectors with product code ‘CUC2’ (chassis mount, to replace the unit BNC connector; velleman.eu/products/view/?id=340732), which can be found in the online Velleman Product Catalog.
Those are audio connectors, not HF connectors.
They are not shielded.
Furthermore, the standard BNC connectors are bajonet locked, why would you want to replace them with screw connectors that can release due to vibration?
