PCS500 using USB to LPT adapter cable?

Hello,
My new laptop has no printer port. It has only USB ports.

I have bought a USB to DB-25 cable but PC-Lab does not recognise it as a valid printer port.

Has anyone else solved this problem?

Many thanks,
Ed

PS Apologies if this has been covered, but the forum’s search feature ignores “USB” as a search term.

Hi,

PCS500 will not work with USB to parallel port converters.

Yes, this topic has been discussed.
It is not possible to run the PCS500 with USB to parallel port converter.
You may find some more info from this thread:

Here some customers got a PCMCIA to parallel adapter to work with an LPT port connected oscilloscope:

Thanks for rapid response.

You have saved me a lot of time, struggling with Windows XP.

A pity that my trusty PCS500 has to be retired.

Regards,.
