Hello,
First of all please excuse my bad english.
I recently bought a PCS500. It failed to calibrate, I changed C13, C16, C19 and C24 capacitors and it seems to work now.
But I think it still has a problem. When I use “Spectrum Analyzer” function, if I select a low frequency range, refresh rate of the “display” becomes very low. On 600Hz range it takes a few seconds to refresh. What could be the problem?
It is strange that you had to change the capacitors.
About the FFT spectrum analyzer:
It seems to work OK.
The sample rate on the 600Hz range is 1.25kHz. This is the same as the sample rate in the oscilloscope mode on the 100ms/div range.
The number of samples captured before the FFT calculation is 4096.
The time to capture this amount of samples is 4096/1250 = 3.2 seconds.
Thank you for your answer.
Only one capacitor was bad but i prefered to change all. The regulators near them are generating a lot of heat and i think this was the cause for the failing capacitor.
