I use a pcs500 with Lab2000 version1.3. When I connected it to my laptop the pcs500 could not be found, even though the LED on the pcs500 was ON. The LED was seen to slowly go OFF after a few miinutes . The scope has not worked since. Please advise how I can fix this myself or who I can send it to for a repair. I am based in Ireland.
Kevin
The PCS500 will only work with a native parallel port.
USB to parallel port converters will not work.
The software will not work with 64 bit O/S’s
Thanks for your reply.
My scope had been working the previous day. My laptop has a parallel port

Have you checked the power supply voltage?
Yes I have checked the psu (I am an electonic engineer)
Thanks Kevin
You might ask for the schematics.
In this thread there is circuit diagram of the power on/off control circuit:
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=8424
The signal POWER_ON is used to turn the power on at startup.
In normal operation the POWER_OFF is high and keeps transistors T18 and T16 on.
You can first check the voltage from J14 is coming to the emitter of T16.
BTW: One cause of the problem may be defective LPT cable.
