PCS500 LPT port not one of three

My old XP PC did not have a parallel port. I added one in a PCI slot 4 and used a scanner for years.
It has a resource range of D898 which is not one of the 278, 378 or 3BC choices.

Not sure how to proceed?

No, this is normal. On the PCI-bus you don’t have the old ISA-addresses like 378 and so on anymore.
You should look up in control panel -> hardware which port address this new card has. With some cards, you only will find the whole address range the card occupies (also look in the hardware list for LPT ports and see if there you find a real address). In that case the starting address MAY work but is totally not guaranteed. In doubt -> contact the manufacturer of the card and send the address ranges also. Normally the manufacturer will then be able to till you which address to use.

You have to enter the LPT port address to the text box on the startup screen of the PCLab2000SE.
Just click the ‘378’ and replace it with correct address

Hi,

I had same probleem but when I changed prot (I have port03BC - 03BE) it didn’t help, PCLab2000SE still does not detect any hardware, what may be the probleem?

The 3BC is one of the three default port addresses.
Should work just selecting this address on the startup screen of the PcLab2000SE.
Have you tested your PCS500 in other PC? Is it working?

I have no ohter computer with printer port, but what may be the probleem, is there some ohter settings I can check?

I’m sorry, no other settings to check.
Maybe your PCS500 is defective.

BTW: What operating system are you using?
