PCS500 in WinXP Home New install

Hello

I have work many years with the PCs500 scope in Win 98. Now I have install PCLab2000SE on my desktop and laptop (both XP Home). On the laptop the error “No hardware responce” appears.
The printer works fine. No errors found in hardware devices. I have tryed all suggested settings but nothings help.
Somebody can help me out off problems?

Do you have in the laptop a “real” PLT port? -The USB to LPT adapter does not work.
Have you checked in the device manager the LPT port address?
Here an example (address 378):

Under the “Port Settings” tab:

  • Select “Never use an interrupt”.
  • Uncheck the “Enable legacy Plug and Play detection”.

Hello

Thanks for the answer. Today I have installed PCLab2000SE on another IBM X31 ( Both Laptops are equal. One with XP Home new install and the other with Win XP Pro) and it’s the same problem. No hardware responce ! On my IBM Clone Desktop with Win XP Home all is OK.
Is this a typical problem for IMB Laptops?

Greetings
Geri

Maybe the LPT port of the IBM X31 is not capable to power the I/O section of the PCS500.

In this thread there seems to be about similar case:

There the solution was:
“changed the LPT settings in the BIOS to “Standard Bi-directional” instead of the default ECP.”
