Hi sorry to bother you, but I do have a few questions to ask towards the installation of the pclab2000se software. I’ll try to give a little background info towards what were doing.
1st... were installing the software on a new master hard drive with Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit edition. The Software was installed also on a Windows 7 Professional 32bit version. This was done under an Admin Account. Program runs fine on both computers under the admin account.
Using Regedit, we looked in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\ area... On the Win 7 Pro version, we found the propper entry of the Vellemen\pclab2000se listed. But on the Enterprise Version, there was no registry entry.
First Question... Where is the registry entry listed for the Pclab2000se? for the Win 7 Enterprise??? it should be there, but isn't... I ask this because the program makes an entry into the registry. I know this because of the second part below... which will be explained below.
2nd... We created a Student login to access the program. This account does not have admin access. We gave the student modify control on the vellemen\pclab2000se folder so they can modifi the .ini files. We gave the student Admin access to run the program and set the Compatibility to windows xp service pack 2. Just as the instructions mentioned in the readme file.
When the program ran under the student account, it gave an error. " Failed to set data for 'Value1' " ... This we came to know later after many trial and errors as a Registry Entry from the program. The Program when ran with Admin Rights, would not produce the error, only under the Student login. So in the Admin Login, we used Regedit and gave student permission to write into the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Vellemen\Pclab2000se registry spot.
Relogged into student and ran the Pclab2000se program and no more error.
But on the Win 7 Enterprise Edition, there is no Registry Entry to find, only entry with pclab2000se.exe is the program listing in some other part of the registry. We even tried adding in the Registry entry from the Professional version into the Enterprise version and did the above to remove the error, but no luck.
So, please forgive me on repeating this question... but Where is the registry entry listed for the Pclab2000se? for the Win 7 Enterprise???
Thank you for your time and knowledge.
