PCLab2000 integrates a number of Velleman products. If you have only one, such as the PCGU1000 as I do, having to deal with the selection window of PCLab starts to become a bit of an annoyance. i.e. it has to start up, the user has to confirm that the proper “button” is selected for the instrument, and then “OK”. So maybe Velleman could consider a minor feature update: how about a command line startup option such that PCLab immediately loads the requested instrument without having to deal with the selection window. IOW, the shortcut to it would look something like “…\PCLab2000SE.EXE /PCGU1000” It would then pass through the selection window and the scope window invisibly and display the PCGU1000 panel immediately.
Thank you for the feedback.
It would then pass through the selection window and the scope window invisibly and display the PCGU1000 panel immediately.
There is a workaround to get the PCGU1000 panel to appear immediately:
You have to create a shortcut to the program PCSU1000GU.exe.
- Locate the file PCSU1000GU.exe. By default the path to it is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Velleman\PCLab2000SE\PCSU1000GU.exe.
- Right-click PCSU1000GU.exe, point to “Send To” and then click “Desktop (create shortcut)”.
The only requirement is that you have to run once the PcLab2000SE to store the settings to show only the PCGU1000 user interface panel.
The settings are stored to the files WinDso.ini and FGen1000.ini in the folder: C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Velleman\PCLab2000SE
Hahaha! Dang. I would have sworn that I already tried that before posting the message, having suspected that perhaps there was direct access to the PCGU1000 program. I may have clicked on the wrong (well, I probably DID click on the wrong) executable since it didn’t work when I tried it. And that was after having it run successfully accessed through the selection panel so the ini file was present.
Anyway, of course you are right and it works like a charm. Thank you so much for such responsive support.
