my PCGU1000 Function Generator isn’t working any more. I get the information that: “No Function Gerenator reponse. Please make sure that the USB cable is connected. If connected: Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable”.
I tryed that. I also turned the computer off and on again.
Suggestions?
Have you tried to update the driver?
Right click the Unknown Device and select Update Driver Software.
Then locate the driver folder where the latest driver 5.4.0.0 is extracted.
I guess the problem is that I used another USB Device and there is a problem to use both of them.
Right now I disconnected the other one. At least I can find in the Device Manager the Velleman Device.
The driver Software is fine. And it is written the Device works without a problem.
Unfortunaly that is not true because if I start the Software. I get the message the device isn’t connected.
First test: Disconnect and reconnect the power supply and the USB cable from the PCGU1000.
Then try to run the software.
If no help, you may try following:
In Device Manager right click the PCGU100 Function Generator (COMx)
Select Uninstall.
Select the check box “Delete the driver software…”
Click OK
Unplug and plug the PCGU1000 USB cable.
Now install the driver again.
I uninstalled the PCGU1000 Function Generator as you said.
If I plug the USB connector again in.
I get, I can’t install the driver software. I only have an unknown device.
I already deinstalled the software and installed it again.
Further suggestions?
You may try to use other USB slot of the PC.
Also try with other USB cable.
The driver used depends on the operating system of the PC:
In Windows 98SE, Windows ME and Windows 2000 only the original driver version 4.40.1.0 can be used.
In case of 64bit operating system please see the Release Notes.pdf section: “Workaround to use the PCGU1000 on 64-bit Vista or Windows 7”.
You can use the program USBView.exe to check the PCGU1000 USB connection.
USBView is available for download as a .zip file from: ftdichip.com/Support/Utilities/usbview.zip
USBView is a free utility from Microsoft that displays the USB connection tree and shows the USB devices that are connected to it together with their configuration data. This is very useful for debugging USB enumeration errors.
