Hi
I have a PCGU-1000
I install the last driver in website velleman, I Install last pc-lab.
The install is good.
In materials, I have Pcgu-1000 in USB and in COM
The COM is 3
When I lanch Pc-lab
The generator said Loading and:
“No Function Generator response
Check the power adapter connection and restart this program”
I have a XP Pro.
And I tested with an other computer with Xp Pro, The Generator is OK, non problem with this drivers and this program.
The port com is 3
I test to change port com but no change.
Have you a issues???
I read this forum but I doesn’t find a response ( I change port com on 9,)
I had a similiar problem but on Vista 32 bit service pack 2. Sent one unit back and
replacement did same thing. Power/Ready led wouldnt even come on. Any how
changed com port to 2 replugged cable and it now works fine!
I’ve just received my PCGU1000 and I have the same issue. I’m using WinXP Pro as well. I’ve tried everything, change Com port, unplug and plug back in, disconnect PSU, etc… nothing. Every now and again it works…
Why is nobody from Velleman responding on this thread? If I cannot solve this, I’ll send it back.
We noted that in some rare cases the USB voltage of some computers is a bit more then 5V. This can result in a data interruption in the PCGU1000.
Since you most probably you have some technical skills, there is an easy solution by adding a LED on the board. See picture. The LED also gives nice indication if USB is communicating!
Note: the short lead of the LED in the picture is the cathode.
If you do not feel confident to make this modification, please return the unit. This modification will not affect the unit warranty.
I had opportunity to make this modification to my PCGU1000, which had exhibited sluggish and difficult connectivity to one of my lab computers (but not the other that I regularly use)–after making the changes I am pleased to report that the PCGU1000 connects instantly to all of the PCs I have available (6 of them), both directly and when using powered and un-powered hubs!!!
