Please say me. When must the control-lamp shine?
When the PCGU has power from the adaptor?
When the PCGU is connected right with the PC-program?
When th PCGU is working?
My lamp does never shine !
Thanks in advance!

It should come on when the function generator application is launched, just after the drivers have loaded (it will say “Loading” in the frequency display text box while the drivers are loading). It then remains on until the FG application is closed.
Thanks!
Unfortunatelly I cannot solve the problem with the drivers, because my device is been detected as (COM5), when I plug in the USB.
I think, it must be a hardware -problem with my device.
Was there once a charge of devices with such an error?
I have all the new drivers, but when I want to update the drivers, an notice occurs:
“platform not supported”.
Greetings
Gunti
my device is been detected as (COM5), when I plug in the USB
This is OK.
I have all the new drivers, but when I want to update the drivers, an notice occurs:
“platform not supported”.
What Operating System are you using?
I use Windows XP Home Edition
Version 2002 Service Pack 3 It has been continuosly updatetd
On a Vaio Serie PCV-RS AMD Athlon™ XP 2800+
213 GHz 1,50 MB RAM
The Product Nr. of my PCGU1000 2MHz PC USB -Funktionsgenerator
is 251244154749
It seems you have the driver installed.
What version is the installed driver?
Have you downloaded the latest driver from this page:
velleman.eu/support/download … 1000&type=
“PCGU1000 USB driver”
for Windows XP (32- and 64-bit) / Vista (32-bit) / Windows7 (32-bit)
Does the problem occur when you remove the old driver and try to install this new one (version 5.4.0.0) ?
The driver version is 5.4.0.0
I have removed the old installation from C:\Program Files\Velleman\PC-Labs2000SE
kompletely and have got with pclab2000se_v4_05_setup.zip a new installation on
C:\Programme\Velleman\PCLab200SE\Drivers\PCGU1000\x64 and x86
and PCSU1000\amd64 and i386
I have removed all (COM5) from the registry
than I did “Treiber aktualisieren”
and than I got a notice “Platform nicht unterstützt”
The picture showed a plug like COM !
I have removed all (COM5) from the registry
Maybe doing this operation has “damaged” in the registry.
I suggest you to use the System Restore Utility to restore Windows XP to the state before you have done the registry modifications.
I think best to restore to the time before you installed the PCGU1000 driver first time.
If you haven’t used the System Restore, here you’ll see how to use it:
Please see the chapter “Restoring Windows XP to a previous State”:
bleepingcomputer.com/tutoria … ore-guide/
When done, plug in the PCGU1000 and install the driver v5.4.0.0 and then install and run the PcLab2000SE software version 4.05.
I restored my System.
I hope, when I buy a new device with a new Intallation-CD (newer as 2007) I will find all needed files on it (incl. instruction for installing the newest drivers!)
It’s always best to check the Velleman website for the latest drivers and software.
The engineers are always changing them due to request from this board.
Yes! Latest Question: The installations-CD also contains importent content. When this content is been improved or updated - how can I get this new content ?
There is document Release Notes.pdf included to the installation ZIP package and README.TXT in the folder where the PcLab2000SE is installed.
These documents contain information about the latest version of the software.
Other updated documents (software, drivers, SDKs, manuals) should be found on the Velleman downloads website:

In The newest Manual ist written:
… Sorry, I cannot copy the text for you from your new manual! …you must read it themselves on page 4 under PSCU/PCGU1000
following the Manual one can only install the old driver from the old CD e.g. velsoft 3.2 from 2007
I asked for an advice to install the downloaded new drivers.
That is exactly the problem of my question!

Here you can download detailed step-by-step instructions how to install the downloaded USB driver in Windows 7: box.com/s/vh9olqyx3idhhxn8ujwm
The instructions are for other product but the installation principle is applicable for PCGU1000 too.
You’ll find more details in this thread:

In 64-bit version of Windows 8 you have to disable the driver signature enforcement in order to install the PCGU1000 driver.
