PCGU1000 2 years later

I got my PCGU1000 in November of 2008 and ran some tests at that time to examine its performance (click here).

A few weeks ago my Tektronix DA 4084 distortion analyser came back from being calibrated, and I thought it would be fun to “do it again”…

Here are the same series of measurements, just now performed:

Once again these are the raw numbers as observed, with no filtering or other processing of the PCGU1000 output. It’s still looking pretty good!

Note: The DA 4084 distortion analyser is rated 10Hz to 100kHz, however the level accuracy between 10 and 20Hz, and 20 and 100kHz is +/- 4%. This means that the RMS readings at 10Hz ans 100kHz likely reflect the measurement instrument’s limitations, not DUT performance.

Edit: I just verified this using the Lecroy WJ-322 scope (s/n LCRY0101J22690), calibrated 04-19-2010), observing RMS values of 3.49Vrms at 10Hz; and 3.48Vrms at 100kHz.
