PCG10 - Short signals after 1K

Hi,

After not using it for some time I have a problem with it:-

When I select a frequency, regardless of waveform, using one of the buttons greater than 1K it outputs the signal for less than a second then all I get is very very low voltage noise. If I press any of the buttons >1k again I get the same short burst and noise.

At frequencies choices using the 1K button and below the device functions perfectly as do the noise & other outputs.

Thanks in advance,

Tb.

It is very difficult to say what might be wrong with your function generator. It seems that there is some sort of hardware problem. First you may check that all the ICs are OK in the sockets.
It seems that the problem occurs only at the sample rate of 32MHz.
You may check that the address counter of the waveform data RAM is running by checking the signals at the address lines A0…A14 of IC10. Check if there happens something strange after about one second from pushing the >1k button.
If everything is OK on the address side then you may check the data inputs and the data outputs of the digital-to-analog converter IC6.
BTW: Have you checked the noise frequency range 2kHz-16MHz? It should not work either if my assumption is correct that the problem occurs at 32MHz sample rate only.
