Pc generators

I have the PCSGU250 and use the bode plotter extensively.

Could we have:

  1. A last sweep undo in the multi-sweep mode, this would save an enormous amount of time when one sweep has malfunctioned when recording a family of curves.

  2. Ability to recall a set of sweeps or single sweep and update with further sweeps, i.e. edit etc
or have I missed an existing facility?

Regards, CEJ

I’m glad to read that you are using the Bode plotter option of the PCSGU250 extensively!
Indeed there are some “undocumented” features yet…
A last sweep undo in the multi-sweep mode, this would save an enormous amount of time when one sweep has malfunctioned when recording a family of curves.
This is possible even now. There are two alternative methods to do this:

  1. In the bottom right corner there is a window displaying the sweep results. In this window scroll upwards until you see the line “Hz Vrms dBV deg”.
Select the area from the beginning of this line to the end of the data and delete it. The screen can be updated by changing any settings back and forth.

  2. Save the data using File menu option Save Data.
Open the data file using a text editor and delete the last (or any) sweep data from there.
Here is an example of the data file containing two sweeps.

Hz Vrms dBV deg 1000 1.767 4.926 2000 1.781 4.993 3000 1.773 4.954 4000 1.784 5.009 5000 1.767 4.923 6000 1.775 4.964 7000 1.783 5.002 8000 1.782 4.997 9000 1.792 5.046 10000 1.785 5.014 Hz Vrms dBV deg 1000 1.490 3.441 2000 1.496 3.480 3000 1.488 3.432 4000 1.498 3.488 5000 1.481 3.392 6000 1.485 3.412 7000 1.495 3.472 8000 1.493 3.463 9000 1.498 3.489 10000 1.490 3.443
Ability to recall a set of sweeps or single sweep and update with further sweeps, i.e. edit etc
or have I missed an existing facility?
This is easy. Just open the data file and continue with further sweeps.
The option Show Multiple Traces must be selected to show all the data saved to file.

Now there is an easier way to delete the last sweep:
A button “Clear Last” is added to the Bode Plotter.
If something goes wrong during the sweep, you have no need to wait the sweep to complete, just click the Stop button and then click the Clear Last button.

You may delete several sweeps starting from the last one by repeating the Clear Last button click.

Hi, Last October I was fortunate to ereceive a small programme which instead od deleting all multiple traces allowed me to detet the latest trace, the link was box.net/shared/opdkibn6zh
Unfortunately the link has dissappeared of my set up and so is quite frustrating to manually delet via the data.
May I ask to have the small programme again. I guess changing computers might be responsible. If there are any other updates to bode plot I would be interested.
Still a very very useful product which I enjoy using.
