NTC thermistor broken? how do I test it

Hi

I’m at the point in the build where you have to solder the NTC thermistor onto the heatbed.

I’ve never soldered before and hardly know anything about electronics, is there a way to test that this part is soldered correctly before I set about assembling the rest of it as I’d rather know now than have to take everything apart at a later date.

I have a basic multimeter should I be able to get a continuity reading between the contacts at the bottom of the board that connect to each side of the thermistor?

I’d appreciate any help/advice you can give

Thanks

Hi , you can measure the resistance of the NTC. Should be around the 80-100 kohm

Thank you, I’ve measured the resistance and the reading is around the 120k mark, is that ok?

hm, the resistance changes with room temperature.

That would make sense as the room I’m working in is quite cool at the moment, I’ll test it again when it’s warmed up a bit and see if I get a lower reading, thanks again for your help.
