Nozzle doesn't heat up

Hello,

I have this problem with my k8400. After i finished building it, I tried to load filament but nothing. That’s when I realized that the nozzle doesn’t heat up… Everything was build by the book.

What to do??? Any ideas ?? Please help.

Does the red LED light up on the head assembly when you try to heat up the nozzle (try with the pre-heat function). Is there a temperature showing on the LCD? Is it correct?

Thx for the reply.

There is no led light up, the screen shows 25 degrees, and i tried with the pre-heat. I took the heater out to check for damage, looks intact. I took the sensor out, looks intact. I has checking motherboard and measured with the digital multimeter the plug for heater and it’s 0.

Any suggestions and ideas are more then welcomed!

Check to see if the power supply has 15 volts coming out of it.
You should also check the wiring from the power supply to the control board make sure the polarity is correct.
Is you are in the USA there is a switch on the inside of the power supply to switch it from 220 vac to 110 vac.
If you have the printer plugged into a computer this will turn the screen on.

I am in sweden. The power supply is on 220 vac. The power suply has 15 v comming out of it that was one of the things I checked. Polarity is correct as well.

Does the LED on the control board turn on?

because I was in a hurry, I installed the latest software for 2 print-heads instead of 1.So i corrected my mistake. Now it is heating, but it does not load the filament.

What happens when you try to load filament?

Sorry for the late response,

The printer is working now, it wasn’t loading the filament because the controller was “dead”. I replaced the controller and now is working just fine.

Cheers

Noproblem, happy printing
