I own a k8200 and the vertex, the vertexes print quality is outstanding but it is noisy. Does any one have any ideas?
Any help will be appreciated.
It is true the K8400 is louder then the K8200.
I think it’s because of the enclosure.
You might be able to build a case to put it in.
There are some other post where some have made them out of some Ikea items.
Very good looking just don’t let the control board get to warm.
Check this post out.

The K8400 housing acts as a good resonator, so you need to minimize the vibrations. The Z-Axis is a major noise source, therefore I printed a z-axis holder to minimize the z-axis vibrationshttp://www.thingiverse.com/thing:635751
Another noise source is the fan on the bottom of the printer. You may try to get a part which has a little bit better bearings, but for this part I have no real solution yet. Maybe it will improve using an air flow guide, but I didn’t try it yet.
